Keyword Density

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. But mind you, keywords shouldn’t be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, then your site will probably be rejected as an artificial site or spam site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a certain keyword for five times in the content. The keyword density on that page is got by simply dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on the page, multiply the above by 100, that is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted standard for a keyword density is between 3% and 5%, to get recognized by the search engines and you should never exceed it.

Remember, that this rule applies to every page on your site. It also applies to not just to one keyword but also a set of keywords that relates to a different product or service. The keyword density should always be between 3% and 5%.

Simple steps to check the density:

  • Copy and paste the content from an individual web page into a word-processing software program like Word or Word Perfect.
  • Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’. Now go to the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the total number of words in the page.
  • Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find. ‘Replace’ that word with the same word, so you don’t change the text.
  • When you complete the replace function, the system will provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the number of times you have used the keyword in that page.
  • Using the total word count for the page and the total number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword density.

Lightspeed, Toluna, Ciao... Top UK Survey Sites & Top US Survey Sites

Making Money from Paid Surveys, can it be actually done?? Well yes, of course it can, the hard part is finding the sites/companies that offer legit, no fees to signup surveys.

Any site that does require you to "Pay to Join" is basically trying to rip you off. The reason for this is that the companies that produce the surveys are doing to get consumer opinion on an upcoming or recently produced product or service. Their not going to charge you for your opinion, they'll pay you for it, and in some instances they'll pay quite well.

To make any decent amount of money from Paid Surveys, the key is too join as many as possible, by doing this you will guarantee a regular and steady supply of surveys across the calender month.

Some Survey companies will only send a small amount of Surveys per month others will send a large amount, the key is to make sure you always have the option of participating when you want to.

I'm currently signed up to 10 survey companies and receive between 200 and 300 surveys per month.

If, for example, each survey pays £1 per survey then thats upto £300's per month. In reality you can earn alot more as the surveys tend to be worth more than a £1 each, the most I've been paid is $25 (about £12) for a 35 minute survey.

My list of Top Survey sites for you to join to start you online journey

Lightspeed Survey Panel - (UK)
Ciao-Surveys - (UK)
Toluna Test & Vote -(UK, Germany, Greece)
American Consumer Opinion Panel (ACOP) - (All Countries)
Survey Savvy - (All Countries)
Neilson Net Ratings - (UK & US)
Opinionistic - (UK)
IPSOS - (UK)
NetPanel - (US)

TechnoFav Train

Hi everyone! In the interests of friendship and promoting our blogs, the purpose of this tag train is to add all the blogs on this list to your Technorati favorites list. In return, everyone else will add you to their Technorati favorites list. Technorati Profile

Instructions

  1. Go to http://technorati.com/faves/yourblogurl (replace yourblogurl with your Technorati id.)

  2. Add each and every blog URL on this list as a favorite. Don't worry about Tags as it would take too much time. Click "Add".

  3. Then copy everything between and including Start copy and End copy.

  4. Paste it into a new blog post in "Compose" mode so all the links are preserved.

  5. Add your blog's URL to the end of the list. If you intend to submit multiple blogs then put this list on all your blogs please to be fair to everyone else.

  6. Post everything using the title "TechnoFav Train"

  7. Next contact 5 friends who aren't on the list and get them to join. The more the better. I am aiming at 1,000 group members, but I'm confident we can find more than that. My secret goal is 5,000 group members and those of you who know me are aware of my promotional persistence. Can you imagine what that will do to all our

    Technorati rankings?

  8. Leave the URL of your post here as a comment and your blog will be updated on the masterlist.

  9. Once a week, return to the masterlist and copy it over the list on your blog post.

  10. Add the new blog URLs to your favorites. This last step is important because if you don't add new blogs to your favorites list, then those new blogs will end up removing you from their favorites list and then nobody wins.

  11. Finally, increased Technorati ranking to all!

Blogging for Profit and the planning thats required...

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology.

However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons.

Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging.

The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you.

There are of course other ways to get paid to blog. PayPerPost and Social Spark both offer communities that offer small payments for blog posts.

Rather than diving in and taking every opportunity going in order to make a quick buck, you should take your time and only select the opportunities that are relevant to your blogs topics.

However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn't easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention.

You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project.

To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis.

However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so dont skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site.

To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

A good article on this process can be read here

Traffic Building Techniques & Tracking there Success

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight.

Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period.

To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

Sometimes offering the reader something will draw them to your site, if its something useful to them, then the word may spread. For example see below....

The 3 Things To Avoid When Emailing Your List

When you decide to have an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding many complications. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to get off from your list.

Aside from that, you also want to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider or ISP. There are now many laws and rules that are applied to help protect the privacy of the internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of the electronic mail as a medium for marketing because of the low cost, many company’s have seized the opportunity and have flooded many people’s e-mail accounts with promotional mail.

But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list; they want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials. They have consented to being on the list by subscribing themselves, just don’t forget to put an unsubscribe feature everytime in your opt-in list so that you avoid any confusion. There may be times when an email account was provided when the real owner didn’t want to subscribe.

It is essential that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange it by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Do not worry; your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales then to profit.

Keep yourself and your business out of trouble and potential run-ins with the law and the internet service providers. Keep your operation legit and clean. Your reputation as a legitimate businessman and a legitimate site depends on your being a straight and true marketing strategist. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list.

1) Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient.

There are bounces that happen or occur because the server was busy at that time but can still be delivered in another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounce messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a misspelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the .com area.

2) Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way and many more in potential subscribers.

3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Always remember these tips in this article so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.
